Warning: it's about to get all Dear Diary up in this shit!

I was pretty nervous to hang out with a friend of mine because they can be quite the loose canon, and can be hostile at times. Not to mention the fabricated stories they can create with improvisations. You just have to let them tell their "stories" and nod your head, in the same way you would with a stubborn child.

With that being said, last night was fun, memorable, and some what spontaneous. It was exactly what I needed among the stress and anxiety I've been under lately.

The drive to Pomona was pretty much bumper to bumper, and it was hot as haaale in my car because the air conditioner doesn't work. We finally arrived and only paid $1 for parking, which in LA, is so rare. The line for the Haim show circled around the Fox Theater, filled with mostly trendy teenage girls with their Forever 21 outfits and instagram selfies. I've never felt so out of place. Well, except for that one time my family and I went to this Christian lake thing at Sequoia National Park.

Slowly walking towards the entrance like a heard of zombies, we got patted down for like a good 30 seconds. We joked about it later, that we should've looked back and say, "Um excuse me, a little lower please. That's where I like it." Anyway, we weren't able to get in because we had our tickets on our phones, so we had to go to the box office and get the print out versions. While my friend was talking to the ticket people, I see this tiny ~biracial~ girl and thought she looked SO familiar. Her friend's mom (I think?) was getting them VIP tickets or something, and she was just standing there quietly. I connected the dots. I'm 90% sure that it was Rue from the Hunger Games.

We finally go inside the theater, and the opening act (some skinny hipster white guy, Justin Timberlake wannabe) was playing. We had zero interest, so we headed straight to the roof top and bought some Pabst Blue Ribbon and chilled. We switched to a corner spot and my friend started to smoke weed, even though there were security and police officers like 20 feet away from us. We walked around the roof top and found a room that was for VIP only. No one was in there, so I walked in and we smoked a bowl in there for a while. It was a huge room filled with couches, pillows on pillows on pillows, and buckets of champaign.

The main act, Haim, was about to start and this placed was sold out packed. My friend got into a verbal altercation with a few soccer moms over standing areas. We finally got a decent viewing spot in the back. After the first few songs, the people in front of us left, and we finally got the perfect view.

The Haim sisters were incredibly talented. They shredded the fuck out of their guitars and, at one point, there was a drumming solo and they were completely animalistic and beat the living shit out of those drums. My favorite part of the entire show was when they brought their middle aged parents out and their mom sang "Mustang Sally" while the Dad played drums.

Haim played a great show, but the minor down side of my experience was the dull people next to me. Why are you even at a rock show if you're just going to stand there super still, browsing your phone the entire time? It's so awkward when I'm head-banging and dancing like an idiot when your surrounding isn't feeling the same way.

I was also near the bartender the entire time, and she proceeded to tell me, "YOU'RE AT A CONCERT YOU SHOULD SMILE!!!", "LOOK HE'S SMILING!!", "WHY DO YOU LOOK SO SAD? SMILE!!", *gesturing her hands to make a smile on her face*, and other variations of that shit through out the entire fucking show. I just wanted to cunt punt her and tell her to fuck off. Jesus fucking Christ. This is the type of shit you should never do with people who are introverted.

After the show, we drove around to find food. Stopped at a parking lot and smoked a bowl and listened to great music. Drove to the In-N-Out drive through. Got a shit ton of food, and drove back towards LA. We belted out songs after songs and ate greasy food. It was an awesome night.
