The East

"You spy on us, we spy on you."

The East is about a spy who goes under cover to search for an extremist activist group called "the East". After being initiated into the cult-like group, they go on missions to give corrupt and unethical corporate leaders and politicians a taste of their own medicine, literally.

Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, known for Another Earth and the Sound of My Voice, really knocked it out of the park with this political thriller. They even went as far as method acting goes by living a freeganism lifestyle for 6 months.

Crystal Fairy

Finally a role where Micheal Cera doesn't play an awkward teen falling in love with a manic pixie dream girl.

Cera plays Jamie, an American 20-something traveling with his Chilean friends in search of the San Pedro cactus to eventually get high on the beach. Not just a regular high, but it's the San Pedro Cactus high, as they keep mentioning. Jamie is a neurotic control freak, that meets his opposite hippie dippie girl name Crystal Fairy. They do not get along because they're both entitled assholes, but she joins them on their journey anyway.

Louie { Season 3 }

More than dick jokes this time around. On the surface, Louie gives off a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' vibe, but darker and edgier. There's a major relatable factor and vulnerability particularly in this season. Conceptually, there is a lack of consistency, but in the most exciting way possible. Louis CK is always bringing something fresh and something ~real to the table. We finally get to see him evolve out of his glass-half-empty outlook on life. Possibly the best season of television in a long time.

Also, this show's ratings are so low. I hope they don't cancel it. Gosh, all my favorite shows keeps getting canned. Thanks, Obama.
