5) Another Earth

A visually stunning story about a recent high school graduate, Rhoda, who was going to have a bright future at M.I.T. Her life turns up-side-down after a horrific accident.

Prior to watching this film, I expected many alien-esque elements, much like the classic E.T. However, this was more about Rhoda's story of over coming her mistakes.

There were many stunning visuals of the "other" Earth, and a surprising ending, that I was not expecting.

Another Earth reminded me of a teenage, indie version of Carl Sagen's 1997 film Contact.

4) Hanna

A highly trained assassin, Erik, trains his daughter Hanna to kill. They live in the cold wilderness in Finland, away from any civilization. Hanna has never come in human contact, besides her father.

Hanna is a highly stylized revenge film with an amazing musical score composed by the Chemical Brothers.

I had high expectations for this film after watching the trailer, and it certainly delivered. The locations in which this film takes place, like Morocco, Germany, and Finland, boosted the elements of the film's aesthetics.

3) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2

The last and final movie of the popular Harry Potter series, Deathly Hollows Part 2 delivers a stunning and emotional ending.

I might be a little bit biased, since I loved the book. But from the very beginning with the dementors hovering over Hogwarts, to the scene with the protection charm over the school, to Snape and Lily's childhood, I thought the visuals were flawless. I couldn't have asked for a better adaptation. The story ended "well".

2) Submarine

A coming of age tale about an average guy, Oliver, and his obsessed love for a girl name Jordana.

A British film produced by famous American actor, Ben Stiller, Submarine gives an interesting take on a socially alienated teenager, and his views of his parents and peers.

There was a montage of Oliver and Jordana running around and having a good ol' time. That scene had me missing part of my teenage years, and left me feeling nostalgic about my past.

Overall, Submarine was a refreshing movie if you're like me and needed to a break from highly formulated big budgeted Hollywood films.

1) Bridesmaids

Funny women being funny.

This movie is quotable as fuck. I find myself randomly saying "Ooooohhhh yew dewwww???? Oh, Hellen knows the owner!" like ten times a day.

There's really nothing more I can say about how great this movie is. I mean, it takes a real asshole is find this is awful. If you didn't laugh once during the duration of this funny ass movie, then I guess your asshole is not bleached.
